May 25, 2017 – On Sunday, June 4th, Buckhead Life Restaurant Group will do something it has never done before in its 40 year history- bring all of its Executive Chefs together to host a dinner at The Lobster Bar.
Adrian Phillips, longtime Manager of The Lobster Bar and 15-year veteran of Buckhead Life, was struck by a vehicle on April 8th while crossing West Paces Ferry Road on his bike. Adrian spent more than six weeks in ICU at Grady Hospital while recovering from injuries sustained from being dragged behind the vehicle that struck him, and has recently been relocated to an Emory rehabilitation center.
The “Best of Buckhead Life” dinner will include a pre-dinner cocktail reception with passed hors d’oeuvres from Chef Bobby Holley of Atlanta Fish Market, Chef Crystal Hoang of Corner Cafe, and Chef Charles Schwab of Buckhead Diner. The Five-course dinner to follow will include courses from Chef Piero Premoli of Pricci, Chef Ryan Delesandro of Chops, Chef Pano Karatassos of Kyma, and Chef Gary Donlick of Bistro Niko. Each course will be expertly paired with wines from Chops’ extensive cellar. Chops’ General Manager Kevin Brown is especially excited, saying, “We’re bringing the house on this one, it’s the first time we’re having all of the executive chefs come together to produce a dinner of this magnitude.”
But the employee contributions don’t end there. Service staff members from across the company have volunteered to donate their time that evening, so 100% of the money raised through the $250 all inclusive ticket price will be donated to Adrian. Tax and gratuity will not be accepted.
Pano and Niko Karatassos, Buckhead Life’s Founder/CEO and President respectively, started planning the dinner after receiving extensive inquiries from regular guests eager to learn how they could help Adrian. “Adrian is a close family member of Buckhead Life and the entire Buckhead Life family is reaching out asking how they can help. Adrian is the kind of guy who would give you the shirt off of his back and make you take it.”
